The product contains benzyl alcohol but the presence is not indicated in the list of ingredients. Consumers are not aware of its presence and may suffer allergic reactions or skin sensitisation. Moreover, the product also contains allergenic fragrances (Linalool, Limonene, Citral, Geraniol and Farnesol), which are not mentioned in the list of ingredients. Failure to mention the presence of these allergenic substances on the labelling in leave-on products may cause dermatitis/eczema, or more serious skin reactions in already sensitized persons. According to the list of ingredients, the product contains 2-(4-tertbutylbenzyl) propionaldehyde (BMHCA), which is prohibited in cosmetic products. BMHCA can damage the reproductive system, harm fetal health and cause skin sensitisation. Moreover, the perfume contains the allergenic fragrances d-limonene, linalool, benzyl alcohol, citronellol, geraniol, cinnamyl alcohol, farnesol, hexyl cinnamal and benzyl salicylate. These substances, which can induce allergic reactions and sensitisation, are not indicated in the list of ingredients so consumers are not aware of their presence. The perfume contains the fragrances benzyl salicylate, butylphenyl methylpropional, hydroxycitronellal, linalool, citronellol, d-limonene, geraniol, eugenol, benzyl benzoate and farnesol (measured values: 1.2 %, 0.93 %, 0.43 %, 0.41 %, 0.31 %, 0.22 %, 0.15 %, 0.13 %, 0.11 % and 0.092 % by weight, respectively). Since these substances, which can induce allergic reactions and sensitisation, are not indicated in the list of ingredients, consumers are not aware of their presence.
