Über Colgate
Colgate ist die Mundpflegemarke des US-Konzerns Colgate-Palmolive, dessen Ursprünge auf 1806 zurückgehen, als William Colgate in New York ein Geschäft für Stärke, Seife und Kerzen gründete. 1873 brachte das Unternehmen eine aromatische Zahnpasta im Glas auf den Markt. Heute gehören auch Palmolive, Sanex und elmex zur Gruppe.

INCIMondo führt 122 Colgate-Produkte, im Wesentlichen Zahnpasten und Mundspülungen. Ihre wiederkehrenden Inhaltsstoffe (ohne Wasser) lesen sich wie ein Zahnpasta-Rezept: SODIUM SACCHARIN für die Süße, HYDRATED SILICA als milder Putzkörper und Verdicker, dann CELLULOSE GUM, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE und AROMA.
Klassische Kosmetikzusätze fehlen fast ganz. Nur 3 der 122 Rezepturen (2 %) enthalten Duftstoffe, keine einzige Parabene, Silikone oder denaturierten Alkohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Auf einer Colgate-Tube bezeichnet AROMA das Geschmacksaroma, kein Parfum. Die Fluoridverbindung steht in der Zutatenliste, und viele Packungen nennen zusätzlich den Fluoridgehalt in ppm – praktisch, um Varianten zu vergleichen.
