Wat het is
Cetylalcohol is een wasachtig vetalcohol dat uit plantaardige oliën wordt gewonnen of synthetisch wordt gemaakt. Ondanks de naam is het geen uitdrogende alcohol zoals ethanol.
Waar het wordt gebruikt
Te vinden in crèmes, lotions en haarconditioners.
Grenzen van de interpretatie
De INCI-lijst laat zien welke ingrediënten aanwezig zijn, niet hoeveel van elk. Boven 1% worden ingrediënten in afnemende volgorde van gewicht vermeld; onder 1% is de volgorde vrij.
Vetalcoholen vormen een andere groep dan ethanol (‘alcohol’ of ‘alcohol denat.’ op etiketten).
