What INCIMondo is
INCIMondo is a free, multilingual encyclopedia of cosmetic ingredients. We help you understand the names in the INCI list on the packaging: what an ingredient does, where it comes from and what EU rules say about it.
The site is available in Polish, English, German, French and Spanish. There are no accounts, no ads and no paid features.

Where our data comes from
Ingredient data (INCI names, functions, restrictions) comes from the European Commission's CosIng database. Information on recalled products comes from the European Commission's Safety Gate system.
Our product database is built from Open Beauty Facts – an open, community-run database available under the ODbL licence – from manufacturers' websites and from submissions by readers and brands, which our editors check.
We show the source next to the data. Remember that the ingredient list on the packaging always takes precedence, because manufacturers change their formulas.
How we work
Ingredient descriptions, guides and reviews are written by the INCIMondo editorial team. Every text is reviewed before publication: we check it against the source data and make sure it does not promise more than the available evidence supports.
Not every ingredient has an editorial description yet – we are adding them step by step. The analyzer and the product database work automatically, so they can make mistakes; we check every error report.
Our content is for information only and does not replace advice from a doctor or pharmacist.
Independence and affiliate links
We fund the site through affiliate commissions. The "Buy at …" buttons on product pages lead to shops via affiliate networks (such as Convertiser, Adtraction and webePartners); if you buy something, we may earn a commission, and your price stays the same.
Commissions do not influence our descriptions, analyses or reviews. Brands can send us a current ingredient list or a photo, but they have no say in what we write.
Corrections
Spotted a mistake? Write to [email protected]. We fix errors quickly, because reliable data is the whole point of this site.
