Every INCI name is matched with the European Commission’s CosIng database and with the annexes to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009: prohibited substances (Annex II), restricted substances (Annex III), colorants (Annex IV), preservatives (Annex V) and UV filters (Annex VI).

INCI composition report

A structured check of one product’s ingredient list – useful before printing labels, launching a product or entering a new market.

  • INCI names checked against CosIng: typos, non-standard names and unknown items, with suggested names
  • Restricted substances (Annexes III–VI) with the conditions of use and required label warnings to verify
  • Prohibited substances (Annex II)
  • Fragrance allergens that may need to be declared on the label

What the report is – and what it is not

  • The report is not a cosmetic product safety assessment (CPSR, Annex I to Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009) and does not replace the Responsible Person or a qualified safety assessor.
  • We check whether ingredients listed in Annexes II–VI are present and quote the conditions of use and warnings recorded there. We do not check concentrations, stability, microbiological quality, packaging or product claims.
  • The report is based solely on the INCI list provided by the client. We do not test the product itself.

Editorial independence

  • Paid services never influence our reviews, rankings or “free-from” lists.
  • Verified product pages are clearly labelled as confirmed by the manufacturer.
