About Cosmia

Cosmia is the own-label hygiene and beauty brand of the French retailer Auchan, founded by Gérard Mulliez in 1961 and controlled by the Mulliez family. Auchan relaunched Cosmia in 2017 as a family-oriented range of over 500 products, covering make-up, face and body care, shower gels and shampoos; according to the retailer, most items are made in Europe. Separate Cosmia Bio and Cosmia Baby lines are listed under their own names in our database.

Fragrance is close to universal – 293 products (91%) declare it, and PARFUM (293) is also the top ingredient after water, ahead of GLYCERIN (230), SODIUM BENZOATE (203) and CITRIC ACID (202). Denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) appears in 61 formulas (19%) and silicones in 30 (9%); parabens do not appear at all.
