About Dessange

Dessange is a French hairdressing name founded by Jacques Dessange, who opened his first salon in Paris in 1954. His company, Dessange International, grew into a network of more than 1,700 salons in 43 countries under names including Jacques Dessange and Camille Albane; he sold the company in 2008. The products in our database are shampoos, conditioners and masks with French labels sold under the Dessange name.

Silicones and fragrance across the board

Shampoos for coloured hair (3), other shampoos (2), a conditioner for dry hair and an anti-dandruff shampoo make up the 8 Dessange products we list, with names such as Nutri-Lissant, Âge Sublime Blanc Chic and dermo-apaisant antipelliculaire. AQUA appears in all 8, PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE and CITRIC ACID in 7, and SODIUM LAURETH SULFATE, SALICYLIC ACID, COUMARIN and BENZYL SALICYLATE in 6.

Both fragrance and silicones are present in all 8 formulas (100%), DIMETHICONE alone in 5. None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).

Anti-yellowing and anti-dandruff

A shampoo marketed as déjaunisseur (anti-yellowing) for white or grey hair usually contains violet or blue colourants, listed with CI numbers. COUMARIN and BENZYL SALICYLATE, each in 6 products, are fragrance substances named individually once they pass set levels.
