About Etos
Etos is a Dutch drugstore chain that began in 1919 as a cooperative shop for Philips employees in Eindhoven; it took the name Etos in 1931 and opened its first drugstore in Eindhoven in 1924. Part of Ahold Delhaize, it has more than 500 stores in the Netherlands and has sold products under its own name since the 1960s. Our 5 entries, mostly with Dutch labels, are a udder cream ('uiercrème'), a gentle face wash, a 'sensitive silk' product, a nourishing cleansing milk and a hydrating seaweed face scrub.
A small face-care sample
Face scrubs, day creams and cleansing milks are among the categories of the 5 Etos products. GLYCERIN appears in all 5, PHENOXYETHANOL, PARFUM and CITRIC ACID in 4, and TOCOPHEROL, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN and COCAMIDOPROPYL BETAINE in 3.
Fragrance is declared in 4 formulas (80%); none contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Own label, changing suppliers
Retailer brands like Etos are made by contract manufacturers and may be reformulated or resourced – compare the list on your current pack with what you used before. If you want a product without scent, PARFUM is the word to check: four of these five list it.
