About Neutrogena

Neutrogena is an American skincare brand. It was founded in 1930 by Emanuel Stolaroff as Natone and renamed Neutrogena in 1962. Johnson & Johnson acquired the company in 1994, and the brand now belongs to Kenvue. Its range spans skin care, including sunscreens and products for blemish-prone skin, as well as make-up and hair care.

Neutrogena: typical formulas

INCIMondo lists 95 Neutrogena products, led by face care and followed by hand creams, sun care and body care. GLYCERIN is the most frequent ingredient after water; next come SODIUM HYDROXIDE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, PHENOXYETHANOL and PARFUM.

Fragrance ingredients are in 64 formulas (67%) and silicones in 38 (40%). Parabens are listed in 10 (11%), denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in just 2 (2%).

Neutrogena sunscreens and more

In the sun care products, UV filters such as BUTYL METHOXYDIBENZOYLMETHANE appear under their INCI names, while the SPF number and, in the EU, often a UVA logo on the front indicate the protection level. A familiar product name can hide a revised formula, so read the list on the pack in front of you.
