About People
PEOPLE is an Australian hair care brand founded by Katherine Ruiz, which launched in more than 800 Coles supermarkets nationally. It positions itself as premium hair care at an accessible price for all hair types, with a full wash, treat and style system.
Conditioning chemistry
The 6 PEOPLE products we list cover a blonde shampoo and conditioner, a curl conditioner, a hair treatment mask, an all-in-one treatment and a texturising beach spray. PHENOXYETHANOL and CITRIC ACID appear in all 6; SODIUM BENZOATE, PANTHENOL and WATER in 5; and the conditioning agents BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE, CETEARYL ALCOHOL and BIS-AMINOPROPYL DIMETHICONE in 4.
Fragrance is declared in every formula (100%) and silicones in 5 (83%). None contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Conditioners and silicones
Conditioners and masks rely on cationic conditioning agents – names such as BEHENTRIMONIUM METHOSULFATE – often combined with amino silicones like BIS-AMINOPROPYL DIMETHICONE. A blonde shampoo usually contains violet colourants, listed with CI numbers; a texturising spray is a styling product and reads differently from a wash-off formula.
