About Revlon

Revlon was founded in New York City in 1932 by the brothers Charles and Joseph Revson together with the chemist Charles Lachman, starting with a single nail enamel. By 1940 it had expanded into manicure products and lipstick, later adding skin care, fragrance and personal care. The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in June 2022 and emerged in May 2023.

Revlon's formulas, counted

Revlon's 17 products in INCIMondo span make-up, nail polish, hair colour and shower gels. The five most frequent ingredients after water are BUTYLENE GLYCOL, PHENOXYETHANOL, CAPRYLYL GLYCOL, SODIUM HYALURONATE – the salt form of hyaluronic acid – and TOCOPHERYL ACETATE.

Silicones are the most common tracked group, found in 11 of the 17 formulas. Fragrance ingredients appear in 6 and parabens in 3, while denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) is absent.

From nail enamel to hair colour

Revlon's range mixes very different product types, so compare like with like. For hair colourants, EU rules require specific safety warnings on oxidation dyes, and the leaflet describes the allergy test recommended before each use; on make-up, the CI numbers after a “+/-” sign cover the whole shade range.
