About The INKEY List
The INKEY List is a skin care brand founded in 2018 by Colette Laxton and Mark Curry, built on the idea that 'better knowledge powers better decisions'. Products are named after their key ingredient and grouped by concern and by active, and the company says they are priced so customers can test and combine ingredients. The range covers cleansers, serums, moisturisers, eye treatments, exfoliants, body care and experimental 'INKEY Lab' launches.
Named after what is inside
Our 4 entries are the Retinol Serum, a starter retinol serum and the Vitamin B, C and E moisturizer, recorded twice. GLYCERIN and PHENOXYETHANOL appear in all 4; CETEARYL ALCOHOL, CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE, CARBOMER, TOCOPHEROL, TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, ETHYLHEXYLGLYCERIN, SODIUM HYDROXIDE and WATER in 3; SODIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE, SODIUM HYALURONATE, PANTHENOL and COCOS NUCIFERA OIL in 2.
Silicones appear in 1 formula (25%). None declares fragrance, parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Matching vitamins to INCI names
Vitamin names on the front translate into INCI names on the back: vitamin C here is SODIUM ASCORBYL PHOSPHATE, vitamin E is TOCOPHEROL or TOCOPHERYL ACETATE, and provitamin B5 is PANTHENOL. Retinol appears as RETINOL, while related retinoids carry different names, so a 'starter' and a standard serum can differ in which one they use and where it sits.
