A synthetic acrylic copolymer with stearyl and silicone groups, used as a film former.
What it is
Acrylates/stearyl acrylate/dimethicone methacrylate copolymer is a synthetic polymer formed from stearyl acrylate, a methacrylate-functional dimethicone and one or more monomers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or their simple esters. CosIng lists it as a film-forming ingredient.
Where it is used
Found in make-up such as mascaras, foundations and lip products, and in sun care products.
