INCI name

ACRYLATES/STEARYL METHACRYLATE COPOLYMER

What it is

Acrylates/stearyl methacrylate copolymer is a copolymer of stearyl methacrylate with one or more monomers of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid or their simple esters. CosIng lists it as an emulsion-stabilising and viscosity-controlling ingredient.

Where it is used

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

The INCI name does not show the proportions of the monomers or the molecular weight.

Functions

Emulsion stabilising
Helping the process of emulsification and improving emulsion stability and shelf-life.
