INCI name

ALPHA-GLUCAN OLIGOSACCHARIDE

Alpha-glucan oligosaccharide

A short-chain glucose oligosaccharide made from sucrose.

What it is

Where it is used

Found in creams, serums, cleansers, deodorants and intimate care products.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

Marketing sometimes calls it a prebiotic; the INCI list itself says nothing about effects on the skin's microorganisms.
