A crosslinked synthetic polymer used as an emulsion stabiliser.
What it is
Ammonium acryloyldimethyltaurate/beheneth-25 methacrylate crosspolymer is a crosslinked polymer of the ammonium salt of acryloyldimethyltaurine with beheneth-25 methacrylate, a methacrylic ester of ethoxylated behenyl alcohol. CosIng lists it as an emulsion-stabilising ingredient.
Where it is used
Found in creams, lotions, gels and other emulsions.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The INCI name does not show the proportions of the monomers or the molecular weight.
Functions
- Emulsion stabilising
- Helping the process of emulsification and improving emulsion stability and shelf-life.
EU regulation
This ingredient is not listed in the annexes of Regulation (EC) No 1223/2009 in the CosIng data.
