What it is
Benzisothiazolinone is 1,2-benzisothiazol-3(2H)-one, a synthetic heterocyclic compound of the isothiazolinone family, which also includes methylisothiazolinone. CosIng lists it as an antimicrobial.
Where it is used
Found in a small number of cosmetic products; it is more widely known as a preservative in household and industrial products.
