A component of chamomile oil, used for its skin-conditioning and soothing role.

What it is

Bisabolol is a fragrant alcohol naturally found in German chamomile and candeia trees; it is also made synthetically. Cosmetics use it as a skin-conditioning ingredient.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

Bisabolol is typically used at low levels; its presence does not make a product suitable for every sensitive skin.
