What it is

C14-15 alcohols is a mixture of fatty alcohols with 14 and 15 carbon atoms. CosIng lists it with several functions, including emollient, emulsifying surfactant, emulsion stabiliser, skin conditioning, light stabiliser and viscosity controlling.

Where it is used

Found in creams, lotions and other emulsions.

Skin conditioning: Maintaining the skin in good condition.
Light stabilizer: Protecting the cosmetic product from deterioration effects of light.
Viscosity controlling: Increasing or decreasing the viscosity (thickness) of cosmetics.
