What it is
Caprylyl methicone (heptamethyl octyl trisiloxane) is a short silicone with an octyl (caprylyl) group attached, which makes it more compatible with oils. CosIng lists its function as skin conditioning.
Where it is used
Found in foundations, primers, sunscreens, creams and hair products.
