The ethanolamine salt of ciclopirox, used as an anti-seborrhoeic and antimicrobial ingredient and regulated in Annex III.
What it is
Ciclopirox olamine is the compound of ciclopirox (6-cyclohexyl-1-hydroxy-4-methylpyridin-2(1H)-one), a synthetic hydroxypyridinone, with 2-aminoethanol (ethanolamine) in a 1:1 ratio. CosIng lists it as an anti-seborrhoeic and antimicrobial ingredient. In the EU it is covered by an entry in Annex III (substances subject to restrictions) that limits the secondary amine content.
Where it is used
Found in anti-dandruff shampoos and other hair care products.

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
