An essential oil expressed from bergamot peel, used as a perfuming ingredient.
What it is
Citrus bergamia peel oil expressed is the essential oil expressed from the peel of the bergamot orange, Citrus bergamia, of the citrus family (Rutaceae). According to CosIng it contains linalyl acetate, linalool, limonene and bergapten. CosIng lists it as a perfuming ingredient.
Where it is used
Found in perfumes, eaux de toilette and other scented products.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The INCI name does not show whether the oil has been treated to reduce its furocoumarin (bergapten) content. As a natural material, its composition can vary between batches.
