What it is
Di-C12-13 alkyl malate is the diester of malic acid (hydroxybutanedioic acid) with C12-13 fatty alcohols. CosIng lists it as an emollient and skin-conditioning agent.
Where it is used
Found in lip products, makeup, creams and sun care products.
