A light, fast-spreading emollient.

What it is

Dicaprylyl carbonate is an ester of carbonic acid and caprylyl alcohol. It gives a dry, silky feel and is often used as an alternative to volatile silicones.

Where it is used

Found in creams, sunscreens, make-up removers and body oils.
