A solvent widely used to carry fragrance compositions.
What it is
Dipropylene glycol is a glycol formed from two propylene glycol units. It dissolves fragrance materials and other ingredients and reduces viscosity.
Where it is used
Found in perfumes, scented products, air fresheners and some skin-care products.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
Its presence usually reflects the fragrance or an extract solvent rather than an active role in the product.
