INCI name

HEA IPDI ISOCYANURATE TRIMER/POLYCAPROLACTONE DIOL COPOLYMER

HEA IPDI isocyanurate trimer/polycaprolactone diol copolymer

Film formingreviewed

A synthetic urethane acrylate polymer used as a film former.

What it is

HEA IPDI isocyanurate trimer/polycaprolactone diol copolymer is a polymer formed by reacting the isocyanurate trimer of isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI) with a polyester of epsilon-caprolactone and diethylene glycol, capped with 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate. CosIng lists it as a film-forming agent.

Where it is used

Found mainly in nail products such as gel polishes that are cured with light.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

The INCI name does not show the molecular weight of the polymer or how much unreacted monomer it may contain.

Functions
