A volatile solvent.
What it is
Isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol, 2-propanol) is a volatile alcohol that dissolves oils and fragrance and evaporates quickly. It is chemically different from ethanol.
Where it is used
Found in nail products, hair sprays, deodorants, cleansing toners and some perfumes.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
Like ethanol, its effect depends on how much is used, which the INCI list does not show.
