A sugar-based (glucoside) surfactant.
What it is
Lauryl glucoside is a non-ionic surfactant made from lauryl alcohol and glucose. It cleanses and foams and is often combined with other surfactants in milder cleansers.
Where it is used
Found in face washes, shampoos, baby washes and shower gels.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
Glucosides can cause allergic reactions in some people, although this is uncommon; natural origin does not guarantee mildness.
