A purified compound from Centella asiatica.
What it is
Madecassoside is a triterpene glycoside isolated from Centella asiatica. Unlike a whole extract it is a single defined substance.
Where it is used
Found in soothing and 'cica' creams, serums and balms.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
Its position on the list does not show concentration; it is often used well below 1%.
