A peptide linked to myristic acid, used as a skin-conditioning ingredient.
What it is
Myristoyl hexapeptide-16 is, according to CosIng, the product of the reaction of myristic acid, a fatty acid with fourteen carbon atoms, with hexapeptide-16, a chain of six amino acids. Attaching a fatty acid makes the peptide more oil-compatible. CosIng lists it as a skin-conditioning agent.
Where it is used
Found in serums, creams and other skin care products.
