Fatty acids from palm kernel oil.
What it is
Palm kernel acid is the mixture of fatty acids obtained from palm kernel oil, which is rich in lauric acid. CosIng lists it as cleansing and emulsifying surfactant.
Where it is used
Found in soaps, cleansers and shower products, where it is often neutralised in the formula to form soap.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The INCI name does not show whether the palm raw material comes from certified sustainable sources.
