An extract of ginseng root.
What it is
Panax ginseng root extract is obtained from the roots of Asian ginseng. CosIng lists it as an emollient, hair-conditioning, skin-protecting and tonic ingredient.
Where it is used
Found in creams, serums, eye creams, shampoos and hair tonics.
Limits of interpretation

The composition of a plant extract depends on the solvent and process used; the label does not show it.

- Skin conditioning – emollient
- Acting as lubricants on the skin surface providing the skin with a soft and smooth appearance.
- Hair conditioning
- Enhancing the appearance and feel of hair. Leaving the hair easy to comb, supple, soft and shiny and/or imparting volume, lightness, gloss, texture, etc.
- Skin protecting
- Helping to avoid harmful effects to the skin from external factors.
- Tonic
- Producing a feeling of well-being on skin and hair.
