What it is
Peat extract is obtained from peat, the partly decomposed plant material formed in bogs. CosIng lists it as a skin-conditioning agent.
Where it is used
Found in masks, bath products, creams and body care products.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The composition depends on the peat source and extraction method, which the label does not show.
