An ethoxylated amino-functional silicone used as a hair-conditioning ingredient and humectant.
What it is
PEG-7 amodimethicone is an amodimethicone (amino-functional silicone) that has been ethoxylated with an average of 7 ethylene oxide units, which makes it more water-compatible than ordinary silicones. CosIng lists it as a hair-conditioning ingredient and humectant.
Where it is used
Found in shampoos, conditioners, hair masks and leave-in hair products.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
The number 7 refers to the average degree of ethoxylation, so the raw material is a mixture of molecules.
