An antioxidant that protects the formula from oxidation.

What it is

This synthetic phenolic antioxidant protects oils, fragrances and other sensitive ingredients from going rancid or changing colour. It acts on the product, not as a skin-care active.

Where it is used

Found in creams, sunscreens, make-up and fragranced products.

Limits of interpretation
