What it is

Perlite is an inert siliceous material of volcanic origin, consisting mainly of silicon, aluminium, sodium and potassium oxides. CosIng lists it as absorbent and bulking.

Where it is used

Found in powders, foundations, mattifying products, dry shampoos, masks and cleansers.

Limits of interpretation
