INCI name

POLYGLYCERYL-10 OLEATE

Polyglyceryl-10 oleate

An ester of decaglycerin and oleic acid used as a skin-conditioning ingredient.

What it is

Polyglyceryl-10 oleate is the ester of polyglycerin-10 (a glycerol polymer with an average of ten glycerol units) and oleic acid. It is a water-dispersible nonionic ester. CosIng lists it as a skin-conditioning ingredient.

Where it is used

Found in cleansing oils, micellar products, creams and other emulsions.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

The 10 refers to the average number of glycerol units, so the raw material is a mixture of esters.

Functions

Skin conditioning
Maintaining the skin in good condition.
