A silicone-based conditioning agent for hair.

What it is

Quaternium-80 is a quaternary ammonium silicone: a dimethyl siloxane chain carrying cocamidopropyl dimethylammonium groups. CosIng lists it as antistatic and hair conditioning.

Where it is used

Found in conditioners, hair masks, leave-in products and some shampoos.

Functions

Antistatic: Preventing and/or reducing static electricity by neutralising electrical charge on surfaces.
