A volatile oil from rugosa rose flowers, used as a fragrance ingredient and regulated in Annex III.
What it is
Rosa rugosa flower oil is the volatile oil obtained from the flowers of the rugosa rose, Rosa rugosa, an East Asian rose of the rose family (Rosaceae); the CosIng description names Rosa rubiginosa instead. CosIng lists it as a fragrance ingredient. In the EU it is covered by an entry in Annex III (substances subject to restrictions).
Where it is used
Found in a small number of scented products.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
See the EU regulation section for the applicable limits and conditions. As a natural material, its composition can vary between batches.
