INCI name

SODIUM ACRYLATE/ACRYLOYLDIMETHYLTAURATE/DIMETHYLACRYLAMIDE CROSSPOLYMER

Sodium acrylate/acryloyldimethyltaurate/dimethylacrylamide crosspolymer

A synthetic cross-linked polymer used as a thickener.

What it is

This ingredient is a cross-linked copolymer of sodium acrylate, acryloyldimethyltaurate and dimethylacrylamide. CosIng lists it as emulsion stabilising, film forming and viscosity controlling.

Found in creams, gel-creams, serums, lotions and sun care.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

It is often supplied pre-dispersed with other ingredients, so its share of a formula cannot be read from the label.
