A mild amino-acid-based surfactant.
What it is
Sodium cocoyl glutamate is made from coconut fatty acids and glutamic acid. It cleanses with a fine foam and is often used in gentler cleansers.
Where it is used
Face washes, shampoos, baby washes and toothpastes.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
Mildness depends on the whole surfactant system and its concentration.
