INCI name

SODIUM LAUROAMPHOACETATE

Sodium lauroamphoacetate

A mild amphoteric surfactant.

What it is

Sodium lauroamphoacetate is an amphoteric surfactant derived from lauric acid, in the form of a sodium salt of an imidazoline-type glycine derivative. CosIng lists it as cleansing, foaming, foam boosting, hair conditioning and as a cleansing surfactant.

Where it is used

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

The INCI name does not reveal whether the lauric acid is of plant or synthetic origin.
