SODIUM LAURYLGLUCOSIDES HYDROXYPROPYLSULFONATE

Sodium laurylglucosides hydroxypropylsulfonate

An anionic derivative of lauryl glucoside used as a cleansing surfactant.

What it is

Sodium laurylglucosides hydroxypropylsulfonate is the sodium salt of the sulfonate ester of a mixture of hydroxypropyl lauryl monoglucoside and diglucoside, a modified form of the sugar-based surfactant lauryl glucoside. CosIng lists it as a cleansing agent and as an emulsifying, foam-boosting and hydrotropic surfactant.

Where it is used

Found in shampoos, shower gels, facial cleansers and baby washes.

Limits of interpretation

The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.

The INCI name does not show the proportion of the surfactant in the formula.
