A quaternary ammonium compound used for hair conditioning and as an antistatic.
What it is
Undecylenamidopropyltrimonium methosulfate is a cationic quaternary ammonium compound built from undecylenic acid, a C11 unsaturated fatty acid, linked through an amidopropyl group to a trimethylammonium head, with methyl sulfate as the counter-ion. CosIng lists it as an antimicrobial, antistatic and hair-conditioning ingredient.
Where it is used
Found in a small number of products, such as shampoos and hair conditioners.
Limits of interpretation
The INCI list shows which ingredients are present, not how much of each. Above 1%, ingredients are listed in descending order of weight; below 1% the order is free.
