Our review

An algae-type (peel-off) face mask with diatomaceous earth, alginate and Kakadu plum extract – a professional-style mask that sets into a rubbery layer; the listing name and the INCI should be double-checked against the package.

Packaging and what the product is

The manufacturer’s page lists this product as “Śliwkowa maska / 100 ml” from Apis; we could not retrieve a product photo from the page. The ingredient list published there is typical of a powder algae mask that is mixed with water and applied in a thick layer, which then sets into a flexible film that is peeled off. Retailers also sell a 200 g algae mask in the same Kakadu Plum line, so check which version you are buying.

Ingredient analysis

The structure of the mask comes from Solum Diatomeae (diatomaceous earth) and Algin (alginate from brown algae). Calcium Sulfate together with Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate and Trisodium Phosphate control how fast the alginate sets when mixed with water. Chia seeds and calcium carbonate add texture, and titanium dioxide whitens the powder.

The “plum” part comes from Terminalia Ferdinandiana (Kakadu plum) fruit extract, a fruit rich in vitamin C, plus cherry, mango and goji extracts. In a rinse-off/peel-off mask, the contact time is short, so the main effect is the temporary smoothing and cooling typical of alginate masks.

What to watch out for

The mask contains parfum. The published INCI on the manufacturer’s page starts with a stray text fragment, which suggests a copy error on the page; and the name “100 ml” is unusual for a powder – before relying on this list, compare it with the label on the package.
