Allantoïne is een kleine organische verbinding die van nature in sommige planten voorkomt (bijvoorbeeld smeerwortel); cosmetische allantoïne is meestal synthetisch. CosIng vermeldt het als huidverzorgend ingrediënt.
Waar het wordt gebruikt
Vochtinbrengende crèmes, aftershaves, lipverzorging en babyproducten.

De INCI-lijst laat zien welke ingrediënten aanwezig zijn, niet hoeveel van elk. Boven 1% worden ingrediënten in afnemende volgorde van gewicht vermeld; onder 1% is de volgorde vrij.
