About Avon
Avon was founded in 1886 by David H. McConnell as the California Perfume Company and renamed Avon Products in 1939. It sells through independent representatives and brochures, with its global headquarters in London since 2016. The Brazilian group Natura &Co completed its acquisition of Avon in January 2020, and in August 2024 Avon Products, Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the US over talc-related lawsuits. Brands include Anew and Skin So Soft; our 5 entries include a Trekking cologne, Skin So Soft items, a Pur Blanca body lotion and a Color Trend lip balm.
Perfumery first
A cologne, skin care, a moisturiser and cosmetics are the categories of the 5 Avon products. PARFUM appears in all 5, CITRONELLOL and LINALOOL in 4, GERANIOL and LIMONENE in 3, and BHT and CITRAL in 2.
Every formula declares fragrance (100%). Parabens appear in 2 (40%), silicones and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) in 1 each (20%).
A cologne next to a lip balm
With a cologne in the mix, the run of fragrance substances – CITRONELLOL, GERANIOL, CITRAL – is no surprise; each is named separately above set levels. Skin So Soft spans several product types under one name, so compare the specific item rather than the line.
