About Balea Professional

Balea Professional is a product line carrying the name of Balea, the own brand of the German drugstore chain dm-drogerie markt, launched in 1995. Judging by the product names in our database, the line concentrates on hair care such as shampoos, hair oils and items labelled “Plex Care”. As with Balea generally, the manufacturers are not publicly named.

Typical formulas

Hair care dominates Balea Professional's 54 products in INCIMondo, with sun care as the second category. Besides water, the recurring ingredients are PARFUM, SODIUM BENZOATE, GLYCERIN, CITRIC ACID and HYDROLYZED KERATIN, a protein fragment used to condition hair.

Fragrance ingredients appear in 53 of the 54 formulas (98%). Silicones are part of 12 (22%) and denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.) of 3 (6%); parabens are absent.

Silicones and the Balea Professional line

Silicones occur in a minority of this line, so silicone-free options are there if you look for them: check for names ending in -cone or -siloxane, such as DIMETHICONE. As with Balea in general, the manufacturers are not named, so treat each product's list as its own.
