About Bayer
Bayer is a German life sciences company founded in 1863 in Barmen (now part of Wuppertal) by dye salesman Friedrich Bayer and master dyer Johann Friedrich Weskott, and headquartered in Leverkusen. Its Consumer Health division manages over-the-counter brands including Aspirin, Aleve, Berocca and the skincare lines Bepanthen and Bepanthol. Our entries, with French labels, are Bepanthen Soleil, Bepanthen Sensicalm, Hydralin Lubrifiant and Hydralin Gyn.
Two brands, little overlap
Our 4 Bayer entries combine two very different families, and AQUA is the only ingredient in all 4. SODIUM HYDROXIDE, GLYCERIN, BUTYLENE GLYCOL and PANTHENOL appear in 2; ingredients such as CITRONELLOL, COUMARIN, GERANIOL, HYDROXYCITRONELLAL, COCAMIDE DEA and PEG-6 CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC GLYCERIDES in 1.
Fragrance is declared in 2 (50%) and silicones in 1 (25%); none contains parabens or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
Read Bepanthen and Hydralin separately
PANTHENOL in two products fits the Bepanthen skincare line, while the Hydralin intimate products belong to a different category with its own conventions. Ingredients that appear only once, such as COCAMIDE DEA or the named fragrance allergens, tell you the formulas have little in common – check each list on its own rather than treating 'Bayer' as one range.
