About blend-a-med
blend-a-med is a toothpaste brand from the German company Blendax, which was established in Mainz in 1932 and began producing toothpaste in 1936. Introduced in 1951, blend-a-med was Germany's first medicated toothpaste. Procter & Gamble took over Blendax in 1987, and blend-a-med is now part of P&G's oral care business alongside Oral-B. The toothpastes in our database include Classic, Complete Expert, Kräuter Clean and Extra Frisch Clean.
Twelve pastes, one backbone
The 12 blend-a-med toothpastes we list – Classic, Complete Expert, Kräuter Clean, Extra Frisch Clean and others – share a remarkably uniform core: SORBITOL, SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE, SODIUM FLUORIDE and AROMA each appear in all 12.
None of the 12 lists fragrance (PARFUM), as flavour is declared as AROMA. No paste contains parabens, silicones or denatured alcohol (ALCOHOL DENAT.).
What differs between versions
With the base shared, the differences between, say, a herbal and an extra-fresh version must sit further down the list. The fluoride source here is SODIUM FLUORIDE; the fluoride content is often given in ppm on the tube.
